During artificial insemination IVF Treatment Pakistan, a human egg is removed from the ovary and fertilized with a sperm cell under laboratory conditions. As a continuation of the successful operation, after cell division, the embryo is implanted in the mother’s womb (Embriotransfer ET ).
To whom do we perform IVF, i.e. artificial insemination?
Among the assisted reproduction procedures, IVF – In Vitro Fertilization, Flask baby treatment is the appropriate therapeutic procedure for patients whose infertility examination reveals:
- for bilateral impervious fallopian tubes,
- fallopian tube function impaired by advanced endometriosis,
- significant hormonal problems,
- for low sperm count,
- advanced maternal age,
The treatments described below are performed, with the institute’s professional background, as the chief physician of the Infertility and Endoscopy Department of the Genova IVF Clinic.
IVF procedure
Here is an exciting video (in English) about IVF (in vitro fertilize) – artificial insemination.
Step 1 during the flask program: follicle growth
During the in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure – using a treatment protocol tailored to our patients – we treat the female patient with the smallest possible amount of hormonal stimulation and induce her ovaries to grow more follicles. On the appropriate cycle days, we check the maturation of the follicles in the ovaries with an ultrasound.
Step 2 during the flask program: egg extraction
In the case of optimal maturity – under short anesthesia – the follicular contents containing the oocytes are aspirated through the vagina with a thin needle under ultrasound control. The oocytes in the follicular fluid are searched for and evaluated by highly trained embryologists using a stereomicroscope, and the extracted oocytes are placed in a special nutrient solution under laboratory conditions or they are placed in a tissue culture vessel, which provides optimal conditions for the development of gametes and embryos.
Step 3 during the flask program: fertilization
Using the sperm secretion released by the male member of the couple after preparation, we fertilize the retrieved oocytes one by one. Fertilization takes place 3-4 hours after the puncture with properly prepared and processed sperm.
Step 4 during the flask program: monitoring cell division
On the days following fertilization, our embryologists check the process of cell division under a microscope, so we have the opportunity to select the embryos with the best division characteristics and to freeze the embryos that have not been reimplanted.
Step 5 during the flask program: placing the embryos back
Fertilized and regularly dividing embryos are placed back (embryo transfer) 48–72, possibly 120 hours after egg retrieval. The embryos are first stored in a special nutrient solution that promotes embryo adhesion, and then they are delivered into the uterine cavity with the help of a thin catheter. This intervention is performed without anesthesia, as it does not involve pain.
During the reimplantation procedure, we strive to reduce the chance of multiple pregnancies. To achieve this, we try to find the optimal minimum number of embryos that can be sufficient for pregnancy to occur.
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
IVF Cost in Pakistan is also considered if the problem is with the male member of the couple. In the case of a previously recognized low-quality sperm image, it is necessary to get the sperm into the ovum. During the micro-manipulation procedure, the ovum is fixed on one side with a very fine tool, while on the other side, with an even finer and thinner needle, the sperm is introduced directly into the ovum.
If they were not fertilized at all in the previous IVF cycle, or the proportion of spontaneously fertilized oocytes was very low.
If there is no sperm in the ejaculate (azoospermia), the ICSI procedure can also be performed from the testicle or from tissue obtained from the epididymis (by surgery), from which sperm can be extracted.
