There have been many versions and ports of Final Fantasy 7. This is how they stack up.

It’s safe to say that almost everyone has heard of Final Fantasy 7. The game is a masterpiece because it had both the standard gameplay loop of a JRPG and a unique modern fantasy setting that kept players interested the whole time. Seeing this industrial nightmare and exploring the whole city of Midgar was a great way to start the game and get used to the huge open world that would soon be available.

Because the game is so well-known, there are several versions of it. One of them is a remake that covers the first few hours of the journey and sets the stage for several sequels that will add even more to the story. So, it’s only natural that players who want to experience this gem for themselves might not know which release to get if they want to play the whole game.

Final Fantasy 7 (PC)

Final Fantasy 7 (PC)

When Final Fantasy 7 first came out on PC, it was known as one of the worst ports of a JRPG ever. Because the game was made with an early alpha build. The makers didn’t know what was going on and had to patch up most of the problems. While also trying to get it to work right on the platform. This led to a lot of problems and bugs. That made it impossible for most people on this platform to play the game.

In this form, some of the characters’ mouths are broken, which can make them look silly. Another problem is that the music is in MIDI format, which makes it sound much worse than it should. This is a big problem for players who love the series’ music. Also, the fight UI runs at 15 frames per second. Which is a problem with most PS4 ports of Final Fantasy games. The worst thing about this PC port, though, is that it crashes when players get to the Chocobo Racing minigame. This bug was made when players didn’t have fast internet. This meant that many players could not finish the experience and had to quit the game before it was over.

Final Fantasy 7 (Mobile)

Final Fantasy 7 (Mobile)

Most of the Final Fantasy games have had terrible mobile ports, and Final Fantasy 7 is no different. Even though this is Square’s most popular game, it’s a shame that the mobile port has been so badly done. For starters, this game’s control scheme is terrible. If players don’t want to get frustrated with the poorly designed touch controls. They should probably play this game with a controller instead.

The game also adds a lot of new bugs to the series. For example, it crashes a lot, some cars can’t be reached, and some puzzles are just plain impossible to solve. Players who want to try this game for the first time should look at a different version instead because this one isn’t very good.

Final Fantasy 7 (Re-release On Modern Platforms)

Final Fantasy 7 (Re-release On Modern Platforms)

Because Final Fantasy 7 is so well-known, Square Enix chose to bring it back on more current systems. There is a version for the PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and a PC version that isn’t a garbage mess. But even though the re-release was a good port in some ways. It still had some issues that made it less than ideal for playing the game.

For starts, the re-release had a lot of bugs and glitches that made players who chose to play it when it first came out very angry. Some of these problems were fixed, but the fact that they were there in the first place made players very angry, because they were tired of not being able to play the best form of this masterpiece even after all these years. Of course, the game did have some quality of life fixes and cheats that let players skip the grind and other pointless hassles, which made it more playable…but it was still far from perfect.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a big step forward for the series. Instead of an exact remake of the original, which has caused some fans to disagree, the story is reimagined. Not only that, but most of the extra material in Geometry Dash Subzero feels like filler, making a part of the original game longer that wasn’t even a quarter of the full experience!

Even though it has problems, the Remake stands out. Because of how the fighting system has been updated and how great the graphics are. If players want to play the original Final Fantasy 7, they can always do so. This remake, on the other hand, is a great way for fans of the series to try out a new take on the series.

Still, playing Final Fantasy 7 on its original platform, the PlayStation, is the best way to enjoy it. At the time, the game was revolutionary. It was a huge hit that took the series to new heights and made it so that Western releases of games in this series were just as popular as Japanese ones.

Even now, a lot of people think that Final Fantasy 7 is what made Squaresoft one of the biggest game makers. The current company is still a major player in the industry. Even though it has made a lot of mistakes recently. It’s easy to see why people are so excited for the new Final Fantasy 7 games to live up to the tradition of the original. This game is magical and enjoyable to play in every way.
